If you’re looking for a cold, tangy tropical mango smoothie, then this recipe is for you! Simple and quick to whip up, chopped mango and banana add a beautiful, refreshing flavour, and it’s absolutely delicious!

Why you’ll love this Mango Smoothie:
- A cheap, filling, healthy snack.
- It’s full of mango flavoured deliciousness!
- So quick and easy to make.
- Convenient if you freeze the leftover ingredients, so next time you feel like making a smoothie, all you have to do is thaw the ingredients, blend them up, and you’ll have a delicious smoothie ready to indulge in!
With the addition of vanilla yoghurt, this smoothie is extra creamy and full of calcium and protein, providing a great, well-balanced snack for the whole family.

We have loved this recipe for years. I have always frozen any leftover ingredients from making this recipe, eg, the mango nectar and yoghurt in individual containers, if they weren’t getting eaten, so I can pull one or two containers of each, depending on how many people are at home, to make a smoothie for.
It was a game-changer to realise that both mango nectar and yoghurt freeze really well; basically, they just need thawing, then giving the containers a good shake, as they can separate a bit. Then, they’re good to use! So much less waste and not as expensive, next time since you’ve already got the ingredients in the freezer, you can make a batch again!
What is the easiest way to cut a mango?
- With a sharp knife cut off the two cheeks of flesh from either side of the mango pit, then with each cheek of mango cut crisscross lines until you reach the skin, but not through. Then use the knife to cut the flesh off the skins.
- Also, gently running your knife around the sides of the pit can get the remainder of the flesh too.

Occasionally, I’ll make a smoothie throughout the day, pour it into an airtight container, and then pop it in the fridge. Until in the afternoon, when everyone needs a snack, and I’m busy cooking dinner, it’s ready to serve!

Mango smoothie ingredients:
- 1 ripe mango, diced. Use your favourite kind; we have used Kensington Pride here (it’s chopped weight was 108 g, use the whole mango, no matter the weight)
- 200g mango nectar
- 200g vanilla yoghurt
- 1 banana (its peeled weight was 80g, however, use the whole banana, no matter the weight, it is very forgiving)

Instructions:
- Cut the mango into pieces and place in thermomix bowl.
- Peel a banana and add in with the mango.
- Weigh in the vanilla yoghurt and mango nectar.
- Close the lid, add the mc and blend for 20 seconds/speed 5.
- Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Variations:
- Use frozen mango instead of fresh; it’s convenient to have in the freezer, and it turns out beautiful and thick.
- Use greek yoghurt
- Add your favourite protein powder
- Add baby spinach for added nutrients
- Add blueberries
- Add mint or basil
- Try putting in some avocado for an extra creamy texture
- Try a little apple juice
- Add some orange juice
Equipment needed:
- A Thermomix/blender/food processor to blend it up.
- A knife to cut the mango
- A chopping board
- Scales to weigh the ingredients
- A spatula to scoop out the smoothie
- Glasses/cups to serve
- Straws
No, the mango and banana are already plenty sweet enough.
Yes! It will separate a bit once thawed, so just whizz it back up, and it works great.
Alternatively, you can freeze individual ingredients, thaw and make up that way, and that works beautifully. We’ve been doing it for years, and it is our preferred method of freezing, then making fresh on the day.
Yes, you sure can. If you are using frozen ingredients straight into the bowl, such as banana and mango, it may take longer to mix or use a high-powered blender, as they can be quite hard when frozen.
It can be safely stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. It will separate on standing, so either use a spoon and mix together or whizz back up in the blender. However, it’s best served the day it is made.
Tips:
- If you have little ones, and specifically own the Subo food bottles, these work perfectly to serve them in. No mess, easy to eat, easy to wash up, simple!
- Pour the remainder of the smoothie into a glass jar or airtight container and put it in the fridge to use within 2 days. Just give it a good shake to mix anything that has separated.

- You can freeze the remaining vanilla yoghurt and mango nectar individually in any small container and put them in the freezer, as per the picture on the left.
- Also, if you freeze some bananas and buy pre-frozen or cut up some mangoes and freeze them, they’ll be ready for the next time you’ve got a craving for a mango smoothie. You’ll have all the ingredients on hand to make another batch of smoothies whenever you like!
